Adeeb Khalid is a professor of history at Carleton College and a leading specialist on Central Asia. His research focuses on religious and cultural transformations in the Central Asian region from the 18th century to the present day. He is the author of "Central Asia. A New History from the Imperial Conquests to the Present", "Making Uzbekistan: Nation, Empire, and Revolution in the Early USSR" and other works.
