Alun Thomas

Alun Thomas is a British historian and Associate Professor of Eurasian Studies at the University of Staffordshire. His research focuses on the history and contemporary politics of Russia and Central Asia, including Soviet nationality policy, nomadic pastoralism, border-making, colonialism, and socioeconomic change. He is the author of Nomads and Soviet Rule: Central Asia under Lenin and Stalin, which received the Alexander Nove Prize. (staffs.ac.uk)
