Erkin Abil is a historian, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and Professor. His research focuses on the theory and methodology of historical scholarship, the history of statehood in Kazakhstan, regional history, historical memory, and national identity. From 2016 to 2020, he served as Rector of U. Sultangazin Kostanay State Pedagogical University, and from 2020 to 2023 as Director of the Institute of State History. He is the author of more than 200 scholarly publications, including 22 monographs and 26 textbooks and teaching manuals.
