Director of the Center for the Study of Modern China at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. He is the author of such monographs as "Қытайдағы қазақтардың қоғамдық тарихы" (“The Social History of Kazakhs in China”), "Қазақ тарихының өзекті мәселері" (“Topical Issues of Kazakh History”), and "Халықаралық феномен: Қазақ халқының бөлінуі мен тұтастану үдерісі" (“International Phenomenon: The Process of Division and Consolidation of the Kazakh People”).
