Alexander Eremenko
Man Resembles a Thermocouple
One of Qalam's primary aims is to illuminate and explain our world by exploring various historical and cultural phenomena. In this section, we have decided to do without unnecessary words and familiar comments. What you will encounter here are fragments of verses collected from different eras and parts of the world. These speak for themselves and are notably beautiful to us.
In the dense metallurgical forests, grand
Where chlorophyll creation is underway
A leaf was shed as autumn commenced its display
In the dense metallurgical forests, grand.
There until spring, suspended in the sky,
A benzene tanker and a drosophila fly.
They're squeezed by equal forces that comprise,
Stuck within flattened time’s reprise
The very last owl broken and dissected,
Pierced by a stationary tack, connected.
To an autumn branch, head downward bent,
Hanging, it ponders this strange intent,
Why, with such horrific force and absence of consent,
Was it impaled by field binoculars, its form to augment?
